Thursday 8th July

Morning Year 2.

This morning, some of you will be going to Thrive Forest School to learn more about plants.

In class, I would like children to complete the work on the Rainbow Fish that the other children did yesterday.

You are going to be using this story to do some writing, art and PHSE.

  • The Rainbow Fish’s scales ‘shimmer’. Can you find other words that could be used to describe the scales?
  • Can you rewrite the story from the Rainbow Fish’s point of view? You will need to imagine you are the Rainbow Fish in order to do this.
  • Think about a different ‘rainbow’ animal, e.g. a Rainbow Bird, a Rainbow Butterfly or a Rainbow Chameleon. What might happen to them?

PHSE

  • Describe the Rainbow Fish’s behaviour at different points in the story. How did his behaviour make the other fish feel?
  • The Rainbow Fish gives away his most prized possessions. What are your most prized possessions? Why are they important to you?
  • Does this story have a moral? What is it? Can you find other stories that have a meaning for the reader?

Art – The Rainbow Fish has sent you a letter. Follow his instructions to create a beautiful rainbow fish collage using different materials.Rainbow-Fish-LetterDownloadRainbow-Fish-Collage-TemplateDownload

In the afternoon, we are going to be looking a collecting and interpreting data using graphs.

You will also be doing PE

At 2.50 it is Golden Assembly. I have sent Mrs Singh the log in details for Zoom.

Have a safe and happy day

x Mrs Williams
