Morning children, parents and carers.

Today’s group work is:

Group 1

  • Reading comprehension (Rex Retrieves Number 10)
  • Hello my name is……. booklet (Day 10)
  • Addition and Subtraction worksheet 4
  • Phase 2 Pictures and Captions activity (Pg 9) or Year 1 Independent Maths and English Work Booklet (Pirates I Spy and Read)
  • Compose and write a few sentences about today’s blog picture. I’d like you to say your sentences out loud before writing anything and to check that they make sense. Only begin writing your sentence when you are sure you have remembered each word. Read each sentence back once written. Can an adult read your sentences? Can you improve them?

Group 2

  • Sentence a Day activity (Pg 10 Photo 4) Where could this be? What are the sounds that they can hear here? What are the people doing? What have they found? Describe what it is like to be there.
  • Year 2 Independent Maths and English Work Booklet (Astronauts Phonics check list.)
  • Reading comprehension (Number 10 Paul the Lucky Octopus)
  • Addition and Subtraction booklet (Missing number calculations with a number line 2)

Group 3

  • Sentence a Day activity (Pg 10 Photo 4) Where could this be? What are the sounds that they can hear here? What are they doing? What have they found? Describe what it is like to be there. Can you use any an expanded noun phrase or even an apostrophe for possession in your work?
  • Year 2 Independent Maths and English Work Booklet (Astronauts Phonics check list.)
  • Reading comprehension (Number 10 Knight and Dragons, Unite! ) Read the remaining pages of text carefully. Explain to an adult what you have read. Read all questions carefully and then begin to answer each one, looking back at the text to help you.
  • Questions and Commands booklet (Question or Command sheet)
